Mangaluru: State level philatelic expo from Oct 12 to 15 at TMA Pai Hall

Mangaluru Oct 10: State-level philatelic exhibition 'Karnapex 2019' will be held from October 12 to 15 at Dr T M A Pai Convention Centre, said S Rajendra Kumar, post master general south Karnataka region, Bengaluru. 

Addressing media here on Thursday, October 10, Rajendra Kumar said," Justice Santhosh Hegde will inaugurate ‘Karnapex 2019’. Savio Mascarenhas, art director from Amara Chitrakatha Private Limited, former minister Micheal B Fernandes and additional director general Indian postal department, New Delhi, Vishwa Pawan Pathi will grace the occasion.

During the inaugural, postage stamps featuring Late George Fernandes, Ananth Pai (Amar Chitra Katha fame Uncle Pai) and Girish Karnad will be released.  Various activities held such as stamp exhibition, special cover release, cultural programmes, seminar, workshops, quiz competition for schoolchildren and treasure hunt will be held during the three days, said S Rajendra Prasad. 

He also said, "The state level philatelic exhibition is being held for the first time in Mangaluru. Earlier, it has been successfully held in Bengaluru, Mysuru and Dharwad. This will turn out to be a curtain raiser for the philatelists. It is a golden opportunity for the stamp collectors to showcase their talent and also an excellent place to gain knowledge, especially for those who intend to make philately a hobby."
