He said that there is money in the treasury and blamed the BJP government of not having the sense to respond to the problems of flood-affected farmers. "BJP workers and MLAs are vying with each other for usurping flood compensation money. I hereby want Yediyurappa to reveal what kind of investigation he will get done on this misuse," he questioned.
He criticized MP Shkobha Karandlaje, for deriding him, saying that she does not know anything about farmers and farming. He said that the BJP does nothing other than ruling based on the name of Modi.
He also termed as false the statement by the state leaders about the central government releasing second instalment of compensation to the state. He also announced compensation of two lac rupees to Chandre Gowda family from S K Megal and one lac rupees to the family of Chandre Gowda from Karagadde, who have committed suicide, out of his salary. He also said that he would personally pay Rs 10,000 to each of the 38 farmers from Moodigere taluk whose farms and fields were damaged. He said he had taken this initiative with the hope that this will open the eyes of the government to what it should do.
