Udupi, Oct 7: Mohammed Rameez from the Karnataka coast has won Mr Asia 2019 championship title in physique. The competition was held on September 26 and 27 at Our Thampines Hub in Singapore . Rameez is the only gold medal winner from India.
Indian athletes showed great performance in various categories. India won five bronze, one silver and one gold medal. 38 athletes had participated from India.
Rameez competed with 32 athletes across 15 Asian nations. He was also awarded with Pro-card in physique category. With this Rameez becomes the first Pro-card holder of Karnataka. He is one among 10 Pro-card holders of India. Now Rameez can compete only with Pro-card holders and not with amateur body builders.
Sharing his joy with Daijiworld.com on receiving Pro-card, Rameez said, “Pro-card is a very rare identity of a body builder. This has made me to work more passionately. For the next two to three years, I will practice hard and will correct all my negatives. My next aim is Mr World Championship in which I will be competing with great personalities of body building. For this reason, passionate practice is very much important."
Rameez has also won many awards in power lifting. In 2014 he was awarded gold medal in International power lifting competition. He is also eight times winner of state power lifting championship and two times at national level. In 2018 Rameez was awarded with best lifter of India award.
The career of Rameez is shaped by Nishan Kumar who has trained this passionate body builder. Shakeel Abdul Khader, businessman Saudi Arabia is a prime sponsor for Rameez in all his journey to success.
In 2017 Rameez bagged Mr Karnataka title in physique and in 2018 he also bagged Mr South India in physique category.
Rameez is a young and ambitious athlete passionate about his career in body building. He has already won many titles, awards and felicitations. Now he is working as a trainer and is dedicating his life for body building and power lifting. He was conferred with young achiever of the year award for 2015-16 by Rotary Club, Mangaluru.
