Mangaluru, Oct 4: In connection with a shootout which happened late night on September 22 at Ullal Mukkacheri here, the Ullal police arrested Suhail Kandak, who was being treated in a hospital after suffering injury in the said incident, on Thursday October 3.
Allegedly, Kandak, who happens to be the youth Congress state general secretary, fired from his revolver relating to dispute over WhatsApp message.
Kandak had travelled to Ullal Mukkacheri in an Innova car along with friend, Basheer and some others. After reaching there, he had questioned Salman, who reportedly belongs to his rival group, about the said post. During this time, heated words were exchanged with some people who were at the spot. After the arguments went out of control, Suhail Kandak fired from his revolver. As per a case registered thereafter, it was said that the bullet had hit and injured Irshad in his right leg. Irshad got admitted into a hospital.
At this time, two groups fought with each other. The Innova car, by which Kandak had reached there, was also damaged. Suhail was also injured. Several from both sides were booked by the police for firing and unrest.
Suhail was arrested after he recovered from the wound he had suffered during the said incident.
