Thank you readers: Rs 12.4 lac pours in for late Jerry Bajjodi family

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (SB)

Mangaluru, Oct 3: Readers of Daijiworld.com have time and again proved that help is always available from them when one is in distress.

Popular Konkani singer Jerry Bajjodi passed away due to cardiac arrest on September 3 at the age of 51. He collapsed while he was singing a popular Kannada song during a Ganeshotsava event that was held at Bejai in the city. He breathed his last on the way to hospital.

His family was shattered due to his sudden demise. His wife Laveena and children Jeslita, Joyston and Lozita felt orphaned, as Jerry was the sole breadwinner of the family. Jerry earned an income doing musical shows and used to take up small painting contract works within the city.

On September 14, an appeal was published on Daijiworld.com, requesting generous readers to provide financial help for the family of late Jerry Bajjodi especially education of his children.

The appeal received an overwhelming response from generous readers. The heart-touching story of the family was shared on social media also. Hundreds of the readers showed their generosity towards the family and deposited money into the account of Laveena, Jerry’s wife. In less than a month, over Rs 12.4 lac was received in Laveena’s account.

The financial help has turned out to be a ray of hope for Jerry’s family.

“After the sudden demise of my husband, I totally lost hope in life. It was a tough situation for us. But the readers of Daijiworld stood by me and supported me and my children financially. The amount deposited into my account will help education and other related expenses of my children. I thank all readers of Daijiworld, organisations and individuals who came as Good Samaritans in our life. We will remember them all in our prayers,” Laveena expressed her gratitude.

We at Daijiworld thank our readers for once again for joining hands to help a needy family. Let us together make this world a better place.

Instead helping them by giving money, help them to earn money. So they can be happy for life time.

Why our poor and needy catholic children cannot get free education in catholic schools. Dont we catholics donate while building the school premises all catholic money. Still few catholic children have to go to government schools. same with social service activities. This is anarchy mostly happening in mangalore district. Udipi district diocese and better off in giving aid and social activity to poor and needy. There are few churches where people donate after their prayers are answered but when poor go to ask for aid they are denied outright.
