Mangaluru, Oct 3: An interactive workshop on ‘Small Christian Community’ was organized by Fr Anil D Mello, dynamic, dedicated and enthusiastic parish priest at Neermarga parish hall recently. The sessions were spread over 3 days in the evenings from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
The Bible was solemnly enthroned every evening on all the three days at the opening of the sessions conveying the message that one must listen to Word of God and treasure it in their hearts before they can share its riches with one another.
The workshop facilitated by Fr Dr Joachim Fernandes, director, Small Christian Community, diocese of Mangaluru, enabled the participants to comprehend the meaning, history, duties and the foundation text of the Small Christian Community. The attributes of Small Christian Community effectually explicated through Power Point Presentation, songs, problem solving and role plays. The seven steps of Gospel Sharing and group response methods to be adapted creatively to meet the needs of the community were described comprehensively and in an interesting manner through concrete examples and group
discussions. Ways and means in which Small Christian Community could constantly grow in altruistic consciousness, fervour, commitment and zeal were dealt with using the questioning and discussion techniques.
The remarkable, memorable and knowledgeable event was concluded by sharing of experiences by Jerald and Jacintha and vote of thanks was proposed by Lavina Saldanha, coordinator of Small Christian Community, Neermarga.
