Mangaluru, Oct 1: Baroda Kisan Pakhwada and Baroda Kisan Diwas are unique events celebrated with an objective of reaching out to the farming community. These events are being celebrated to acknowledge the contribution of the farming fraternity to the society and to the economy of the country.
After the successful endeavor last year, this year Bank of Baroda is celebrating Baroda Kisan Pakhwada and Baroda Kisan Diwas with renewed enthusiasm. Last year as many as 2,50,000 farmers participated in various outreach programmes held by Bank of Baroda branches all over India. There was very positive and enthusiastic response to this one of its kind initiative from various quarters.
The campaign period is from October 1 to October 15.
Objectives of the events are:
• A special day for celebrating farmers' contribution toward growth of the country and the bank’s business
• Appreciate long term associated farmer customers/ senior citizen farmers of the bank for maintaining their trust with the bank
• This initiative promotes more and more farmers to get connected with the services of the bank. As part of the 'Baroda Kisan Pakhwada', various programmes are organized by various branches of the bank such as Farmers’ Fairs, Night Meets in villages, health check-up camps for farmers as well as cattle, farmers’ conferences,
Financial Literacy Camp, felicitation events for farmers etc. Baroda Kisan Pakhwada and Baroda Kisan Divas aim at increasing levels/ flows of advances in rural and agriculture sector
• Promote the banks' various agriculture lending products namely Baroda Kisan Credit Card (BKCC), SHGs/JLGs, Gold Loan, allied agriculture activities, farm mechanization, FPO/FPCs, Food & Agro processing Units etc along with other products for SME, Retail Banking, Liability & Wealth Management Products
• Undertake nationwide advertisement/ publicity/ promotion campaign that would help the bank to create awareness about themselves, garnering new business and bringing new customers to the Banks' fold
• The main focus during the fortnight would be farmer engagement and creation of awareness among the farmers community regarding the various initiatives taken by the stakeholders including Government of India and the bank in the agriculture ecosystem toward doubling the farmers income by 2022.
New initiatives:
• A new agriculture digital platform by the name and style 'Baroda Kisan' has been launched recently by the bank that would take care of all the basic needs of the farmer. This platform provides services such as weather forecast, mandi prices, soil health and host of other advisory services that would benefit the farmers.
