Bantwal: Leopard attacks dogs - Falls into well

Bantwal, Sep 30: A leopard, which came to catch domestic dogs of a house fell into a well.

This incident occurred on the early morning of Monday, September 30 at the house of Monappa Bangera, a resident of Ballalbettu near Rayi of the taluk.

Forest officials rushed to the spot and are trying to rescue the leopard that is in the well now. Hundreds of curious onlookers are also gathered at the spot.

The locals are accusing that the leopards have eaten many dogs and cattle in the areas of Daila, Amyalu, Kaithrodi and Badanadi in the five to six years.

    After winning six times..person is sleeping while standing, sitting, walking. What else people of this constituency will do..bear the aftermath attack of leopard. It's what congress government done after ruling sixty animals not able to turn even wild animals to there respective place.

    What can the winning MP or the party that ruled so many years do if you locals either encroach forest land and then fight for sakrama, cut forest trees to sell or hunt smaller animals like rabbits/wild boars ?

    Stand guard for two days allowing nobody enter the forest, you'll know how many attempt trespassing. Once you do that, request gaushalaas to release old cattle into the forest instead of selling it to slaughter houses. At-least younger cattle will be saved from hungry wild animals come in search of food. The drama they do looking after them till it dies is all drama. Rather the cattle dies of starvation in there.

    I dont understand why people are after cattles...once all of homes living nicely with it's earning. Hunting of Wild Boar not come under our purview. Some people keep pottu bavi open to fall by this dukkars. Latter on for them there is feast. Kale mantha saiba.
