New Delhi, Sep 28: Rohan Gupta is the new Congress social media chief, a post handled by Divya Spandana aka Ramya.

Divya Spandana had resigned from the post after the Lok Sabha campaign earlier this year. It is after a gap of nearly three months that Congress appointed Gupta for the post.

Gupta on twitter thanked Rahul and Sonia Gandhi for the responsibility and shared the appointment letter.
Gupta, who hails from Ahmedabad, had played a key role as in-charge of party's social media campaign for previous assembly elections in Gujarat. He was also serving as a national media coordinator of the All India Congress Committee (AICC).
Gupta will now play a key role in campaigning for Congress in Maharashtra and Haryana which will face polls on 21 October. Jharkhand and Delhi will likely witness elections in the next six months.
Divya Spandana aka Ramya has gone incommunicado after the party’s Lok Sabha rout. She has reportedly deactivated her WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter accounts. Sources say that the actor-turned-politician contacted her team in Delhi in August to sanction some of their salaries.
