Udupi, Sep 28: Home minister and Udupi district-in-charge minister Basavaraj Bommai said that a special task force will be appointed to develop tourism and tourist places in Udupi.
Addressing a press meet at Dr V S Acharya auditorium in DC’s office on Friday, September 28, Bommai thanked chief minister B S Yediyurappa for making him the district-in-charge of Udupi.
“I have received several complaints from people regarding Aadhaar card related problems. I will ensure they are sorted in the district as well as the state. In the coming days, will ensure that more Aadhaar card centers will be set-up so that people don’t face problems,” he said.
Regarding the crusher issue, a joint inspection with the forest department will be held on September 30. Any kind of development projects have to be environment friendly, he said.
Bommai said that a document having a framework on developing tourism in the district will be prepared soon. “I will seek help from the chief minister. The CM also prioritises developing coastal tourism. Further plans regarding the development projects and others programmes will be discussed in the KDP meeting,” said Bommai.
When asked about the Kundapura flyover, Bommai said, “I will talk about this issue with NHAI officers and try to bring it to the notice of central minister as well.”
Speaking about Varahi project he said that the problems regarding power and irrigation were raised. Later, mobile lift was also demanded. “Will look into this project and ensure that the project gets completed soon,” he assured.
Bommai was accompanied by Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar and Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat. Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, president of the district unit of the BJP was also present for the press meet.
