Puttur, Sep 26: Congress leaders have observed that protest and rally were held under the leadership of the current district in-charge minister and the local MLA, demanding for electing president and vice president to the city municipality here when the coalition government was ruling the state. "It has been two months since their own government came to power in the state. But the administration has not yet taken over the municipal administrations. If these posts are not filled within 15 days, we will hold protest," Congress leaders warned the government.
Puttur block Congress president, Muhammed Badagannur, and party spokesperson, Kumbra Durgaprasad Rai, issued the threat when addressing a press meet here on Tuesday.
"Even though it has been several weeks since the BJP government took over administration, no work is being executed. The chief minister is busy appeasing the disqualified legislators. Flood-affected people are not getting any relief from the government. School children are yet to get text books. The government is giving big publicity to distribution of bicycles," they complained.
Puttur block Congress general secretary, Krihnaprasad Alva, secretary, Bhasakar Gowda Kodimbala and Sevadal taluk organizer, Joachim D'Souza, were present.
