Bengaluru, Sep 25: In a case pertaining to the murder of a youth named Ajay at a forest area near Gubbi in Tumakuru district and burying his body there, the Mico Layout police have arrested five persons. It is learnt that Ajay was murdered for having an illicit relationship with the wife of the main accused.

The victim of the case, Ajay, was from Bannerghatta. Deputy superintendent of police, Isha Pant, stated that in connection with this murder, Kumar (23) from B G Road in C K Palya, N Chetan (22) from Chinnan Palya, Munikrishna (24) from C K Palya, as well as Muttu (23) and Sanju from Anekal have been arrested. Main accused, Anand, and his wife, Roopa, are absconding, she said, adding that the police have been doggedly searching for the four absconding accused.

Ajay, who used to work for a Royal Enfield motorbike showroom here, had developed an illicit relationship with Roopa, wife of Anand, since the last 18 months. Roopa's husband, Anand, who came to know about this, tried to make his wife mend her ways by giving her sane advice, but she failed to follow his advice. Angered by this, Anand planned to eliminate Ajay with the help of his wife. He contracted services of seven persons to kill Ajay for having a relationship with his wife. He got his wife to call Ajay to meet her on September 16 saying that there was something important to tell him. As per Roopa's request, Anand reached near Jigani. Ajay, upon reaching there, was picked in a car, after which he was taken to a forest area near Gubbi in Tumakuru district. There, he was killed by dropping a boulder on his head and his body was buried.

Ajay's family had filed a missing complaint. Mico Layout police, who probed the incident, succeeded in arresting five persons.
