Udupi, Sep 23: “Let us put an end to the issue of not making minister Kota Srinivas Poojary as the district-in-charge minister of Udupi district,” requested town BJP president Prabhakar Poojary to the Billava community leaders through a press meet, which was held at BJP office, Kadiyali near here on Monday, September 23.

Prabhakar Poojary said, “Minister of Muzarai, Fisheries and Port, Kota Srinivas Poojary is a humble politician. He deserves to be in the given post. This is a decision of Chief Minister Yediyurappa. He has something in mind to take such decision.”

Speaking to the press, Prabhakar Poojary said, “Kota Srinivas is the best example for how a common man from Billava community, who was elected from gram panchayat level and grew up to be the opposition party leader, served in various local bodies and presently serving for the second time as the minister of Karnataka Government. It is the great pride and honour for the entire Billava community as well as the party workers.

“There has been a talk regarding the administrative positions over a period of time. This has created a dilemma in the minds of the party workers, office bearers and members of Billava samaj. The harsh reality is that there were some debatable statements which were made,” he said.

Keeping in mind the goodwill of the party as well as that of Billawa samaj, Prabhakar requested Kota Srinivas Pojary not to make room for any discussions regarding this issue and put an end to it.

Answering to a query on district-in-charge minister Basavaraj Bommai taking charge in Udupi, Prabhakar said, “We all hope that he will come to Udupi soon. He may available once in a month in the district. If necessary, about his performance, we, the BJP leaders will pressurize the government to take certain measures.”

BJP leaders Shivakumar Ambalpady, Girish Anchan and others were present.
