Brahmavar, Sep 19: Retired sub-inspector of Brahmavar police station, Sheena Billava (65), breathed his last in a road accident which happened near Uppoor here on Tuesday September 17. Billava had been decorated with the President's medal for meritorious service. He is survived by wife and two daughters.
Billava was moving in his motor bike on national highway 66 near Jathabettu Cross at Uppoor village when another motor bike which came from behind knocked him down with force. Sheena, who suffered serious injuries, breathed his last the same night at a hospital at Udupi.

Sheena Billava, son of Soora Poojary and Tunga from Koni in Kundapur, had joined police service in 1975 at Kadri Mangaluru police station. He had served in a number of police stations including the circle inspector's office at Brahmavar. He had retired as sub-inspector in Brahmavar police station.
In the year 2013, Billava had been honoured with the President's police service medal. He was felicitated by various organizations and institutions. After retirement, he had settled down in Aroor. He was actively involved with social service initiatives and also was hired by a private bank at Udupi.
