Puttur, Sep 18: A complaint has been filed in the town police station here against three persons, accusing them of delivering speeches which were allegedly communally provocative in nature. The incident is said to have happened at the Mosaru Kudike Utsav public programme organized on August 31 this year under the aegis of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and Mosaru Kudige Utsava Samiti in Lord Mahalingeshwara temple premises here.
Karnataka south provincial joint convener of Bajrang Dal, Raghu Sakleshpur, Mosaru Kudike Utsava Samiti president, Kadamajalu Subhas Rai, and Vishwa Hindu Parishad unit president, Janardhan Betta have been named as accused in the complaint.
It is said that main speaker at the above programme, Raghu Sakleshpur, had said that Muslims will not get even a small piece of land in the country to offer namaz if they fail to utter slogans like Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Jai Shriram. Sirajuddin, city committee member of Popular Front of India here, said in his complaint filed in the town police station on September 5 that Raghu's address was supported by Kadamajalu Subhas Rai and Janardhan Betta.
The police said that they have registered the case on September 17. They will now get legal advice from legal advisers as to whether the speeches had anything which would have disturbed law and order situation and communal harmony in the society, by referring the videos concerned to them.
