Udupi, Sep 17: The members of Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI), Udupi, submitted a memorandum to deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha, to make sand available.
Dr Jerry Vincent Dias, president, CREDAI - Udupi, Joyan Lewis, secretary and Sudhir Shetty, treasurer, handed over the memorandum copy to DC at his office in Manipal, here on Monday, September 16.In the memorandum, members of CREDAI, Udupi, have requested the deputy commissioner to make sand available at an affordable price.
“Due to the non-availability of sand, all construction activity has almost come to a standstill. This is wreaking havoc on the economy,” the appeal reads.
The members have requested the DC to make sand available at the earliest and make the prices affordable. “As there is immense requirement of sand in the district, the district administration should not to allow the transporting of sand to other districts,” the members have stated in the appeal.
