Kundapur, Sep 14: “My life as a cricketer has returned and I am thankful to BCCI for it. I had to remain away from cricket as BCCI did not stand by me when there was talk against me in the past. Last six years were not in favour of me. God’s mercy is on me as I have got an opportunity to play cricket again,” said cricketer Sreesanth.

He was answering questions of news reporters when he had come for inauguration of Rupee Mall in Byndoor on Friday. “Only I know the pain that I endured when I was unable to play cricket during the last six years. I will be playing in Kerala Ranji tournament in September 2020. I will also be playing in a league match in April prior to it.”

“I indulged in politics and cinema without wasting time when I missed opportunity to play cricket. Both of them gave me joy. BJP is identified as the largest party in the country. I got into politics as my father is a BJP member. It is the duty of everybody to serve the society and the nation. Some have the feeling that politics is bad. But good work can be done in politics also. Youth should come to politics and serve the country,” said Sreesanth.

I am grateful to Kannadigas for having accepted me as a film actor. Kempegowda -2 film is released along with Kurukshetra acted by Darshan. I thank Komal for it. My next film ‘Dhoom again’ will hit the screens soon. Its shooting is taking place in Bengaluru and Bulgaria. It is a first thriller movie in my film career. I have the role of ACP in the film. I had no opportunity to dance in Kempegowda – 2 as I was a villain in it. But I had that chance in Dhoom again, he said.

“Malayali people consider me as Kannadiga guy. I have studied in Bengaluru. Therefore, I learnt to speak in Kannada. I ask my friends to speak in Kannada when in Karnataka,” he said.

“As I am a Malayali, I must win at least a cup for the state. I have won world cup playing for the country.”

“Byndoor was unknown to me as I had not come here. But the proprietor of Rupee mall is known to me for the last twenty years. I am glad that I could mix with local people here during the beautiful moment. Byndoor is growing as a big city. The blessings of Mookambika deity is on people and Byndoor will grow still more,” he said.
