Mangaluru: St Joseph's Seminary celebrates Onam, Mar Thoma Malayala Samajam centenary

Mangaluru, Sep 14: Onam is the annual, prominent feast for all Keralites. To mark the celebration of this feast, St Joseph's Seminary along with the co-operation of the seminarians from Kerala celebrated Onam on September 11.

The celebration began the previous day with a prayer service. Fr Dn Mathukutty led the congregation in the prayer service. Liturgical activities were taken up by the seminarians of Mar Thoma Malayala Samajam.



Fr Kuriakose Mundadan presided over the Holy Eucharist. Fr Milton Jacob and Fr Alexander Kallarikkal were the con-celebrants.

The eucharistic celebration was in Syro Malabar rite. To commemorate the feast, drawing, poem and story writing competitions were conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners.

Mar Thoma Malayala Samajam launched its annual anthology ‘Punchiri (smile)’. It was also the day for all Mar Thoma Malayala Samajam members to culminate the centenary year of Mar Thoma Malayala Samajam. To commemorate the feast, Onakkalikal (Onam games) were conducted.

In the afternoon the seminary got together to share a fellowship, festal meal as part of the feast.
