Bengaluru, Sep 13: A person was stabbed to death with a knife near a bar at Ittamadu in the city on Thursday, September 12. The murdered person was Venkatesh (36), a native of Kunigal.
Three persons who had consumed liquor at a bar on Wednesday night had visited a hotel nearby for food. After food, they created a fuss overpayment of the bill. Thereafter they also fought with a man running a beeda stall in the vicinity on the issue of change. A person named Venkatesh intervened in the fight and asked the trio not to create din but go away. Angered by his advice, the three fought with Venkatesh, chased him in the road, attacked him with a chair and stabbed him after he fell to the ground. Venkatesh was immediately admitted into a hospital but he did not survive in spite of treatment given there.
Venkatesh was a native of Munavalli village near Kunigal. He had been working in a bar at Ittamdu here for several years as a cashier. He had later left that job. He used to visit the military hotel adjacent to the bar every day for dinner. During his visit to the hotel for dinner on Wednesday, he saw some people fighting with the beeda stall owner and advised them not to fight.
C K Achukatu police visited the spot, registered a case, and began a hunt for the culprits. City (south) deputy commissioner of police, Rohini Katoch, said that the police team has been formed to investigate the case and search for the accused is on.
