Karkala, Sep 10: Two women, who allegedly were found visiting each house and handing over pamphlets containing religious matter, were taken to task on Monday September 9 by some Bajrang Dal activists. Alleging that the ladies were involved with religious conversions, the activists stopped the women at Mavinakatte in Nandalike village and questioned them.

Allegedly these women had visited the residence of a woman of Tamil Nadu origin living at Mavinakatte even in the past. Out of the two, one woman resides near Karkala taluk office while the other is from Karkala, it is said.

When confronted by Hindu organization leaders, the women said they were not there for religious conversions. They claimed that they had come to impart information about a website which helps family maintenance. But locals said that the pamphlets in their possession proved that they were there for religious conversion.

Karkala rural police personnel went to Mavinakatte and took the women away for questioning.
