Bengaluru, Sep 8: The PU students, this time, may have to spend Dasara holidays in studies unlike impervious years when they had fun on account of visit by relaties and by going to houses of relatives and enjoying festivae atmosphere. Because, the department of PU educationis learnt to have advised PU colleges to conduct mid-term examinations to PU students immediately after the Dasara holidays.
This time, the academic year for the PU students will end on April 20 next year. A test and mid-term exam are normally held before the commencement of Dasara holidays. The students usually enjoyed Dasara holidays in the past, and on their return, they were expected to study the remaining half of the curriculum.
Because of the postponement of mid-term exam, they lost the chance fo have fun during the Dasara, many have opined.
At the same time, it is said that some colleges plan to hold special classes even during the Dasara holidays to cover the incomplete portions on account of rain holidays.
Acting joint director of the department, Asadulla Khan, however feels that this arrangement will not create problems for the students.
