Udupi, Sep 8: District BJP president, Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, addressing a press meet held at the district BJP office at Kadiyali here on Saturday September 7, stated that a grand felicitation ceremony would be organized in honour of the newly appointed state BJP president, Nalin Kumar Kateel on September 10 at Sheshashayana hall of Hotel Kediyur here.
A grand welcome would be extended to Kateel on his arrival at the district border at Hejamady tollgate, he added.
Later, a vehicular rally will be taken out from Jodukatte here and Nalin will be led to the venue of the ceremony in a grand procession, he revealed.
"Nalin Kumar Kateel became the BJP state president, while Kota Srinivas Poojary from the district became the minister for Muzarai, ports and fisheries. We have high hopes about both of them putting forth their honest efforts towards the development of the twin districts," Hegde said.
He pointed out that the union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed 100 days in office on September 8.
"The Prime Minister has decided to give Rs 6000 to 14 crore farmers under Kisan Samman Yojana and has reserved Rs 10,000 crore for taking up social welfare measures for them. The intention of the scheme is to achieve impressive rise in the income levels of the farmers by the year 2022, when India will be celebrating 75th Independence Day. Modi wants to make them financially strong and economically independent, which is his dream, he stated.
"We need to appreciate the bold measures undertaken by Modi in the matter of settling Kashmir border dispute and in making triple talaq illegal, thus wiping tears from the eyes of scores of Muslim women," he claimed.
Chandrayana-2 mission should have been successful, but at the last minute, contact with the lander was lost, Hegde noted. "We must appreciate the effort made by ISRO scientists and Modi also infused confidence in them," he pointed out.
Mattaru, commenting about the arrest of former minister, D K Shivakumar said that crores of rupees in cash was found at his home. However, the case has now gone to enforcement directorate and raids and investigation had happened. Shivakumar is not the first politician to have been raided by ED. He already faces some previous cases about amassing illegal wealth. "Doing wrong things and then blaming Modi is not justified," he felt.
Shivakumar Ambalpady, joint spokesperson, Shreesha Nayak, district president of BJP Yuva Morcha, Akshith Shetty, as well as Girish Anchan, councillor of Kunjibettu ward were present at the press meet.
