Bengaluru, Sep 7: Sources say that former minister D K Shivakumar, who is under the investigation of enforcement directorate (ED) now, may next be subjected to scrutiny by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). It is said that it may take up the investigation based on information it has already collected from the enforcement directorate about illegal money earned by Shivakumar when in public office. The ED had said in the special court in the past about sheets of paper found at Shivakumar's residence, in which mention about payment of Rs 44 crore was found. CBI, it is learnt, has the powers to investigate such cases and it can use the evidences and statements recorded by the ED.

On Friday, former chief minister of Karnatka, H D Kumaraswamy, met Shivakumar's mother, Gowramma, at her farm house in Kodihalli of Kanakapura taluk and consoled her. He told her that Shivakumar will come unscathed from the conspiracy hatched by the BJP.
