Mangaluru, Sep 6: The department of PG Chemistry of St Agnes College on September 3 inaugurated their association ‘Chemaura’.

Dr Suchethan P A, assistant professor department of Studies and Research in Chemistry at Tumkur University was present as chief guest of the programme.

The pogramme began with a prayer song followed by a welcome dance by the students. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries followed by the introduction of the office bearers of the association. An oath taking ceremony was led by Dr Geetha M Pinto, head of the Chemistry department.

Briefing of the association was done by Dr Keerthy H K, assistant professor of the Chemistry department. The chief guest enlightened the audience with his insights on future research fields in Chemistry and ample opportunities available for chemists. He also delivered a lecture on 'Solid state Chemistry' after the inauguration.

The president of the function, Sr Dr Jeswina AC addressed the gathering and motivated them by her thoughts.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks followed by the college anthem.
