Six Omani Nationals Arrested in Kasaragod

Kasargod, Jul 5: District police here have taken into custody six Omani citizens, who did not possess valid documents. 

Six Omani nationals were staying in a lodge near the new bus stand here and based on information by a room boy who grew suspicious of the six, the police took the six into their custody. On investigation it was found that they had no valid documents.

Police said that on interrogation Omani nationals have been maintaining that the travel documents and passports were in Mumbai. However, police added that they will be released if they would produce the required document and added that they were on a visit to Kasargod with the help of a resident from Cherkala.

    Dont jump into conclusion? correct, good job, by the room boy and the police for now, when the politicians and SOURCE is involved these will be let loose, though they may not have the documents, then they will say wrong identity, that is our system, money and bribe comes in, Media should act fast and expose every bit or else this will just be a passing news, which might actually be a serious one.

    It may be recalled here that one Omani national was involved in the recent Mumbai attack and has been sentenced in Oman, as per the news given in GULFKANNADIGA, hence the authorities concerned should be careful in dealing with this case and proper investigations should be conducted before releasing them no matter which nation they belong to. As per the law, it is mandatory that proper travel documents be carried along with when we visit foreign country.

    Staying in a foreign country without valid document is illegal. Gulf countries residents are very much aware of the law since they are seeing so many foreigners who are in their jail. Well done.

    law of the land should apply for all whether it will be Omani or american. In their country they are not allowing any indians to roam without valid documents, request to the Indian Departments regarding this kind of issues should be taken serious care of investigation and action againstthem.

    Good work by the police. They must produce the identity or passport. Or else they must be booked as per the appropriate law and law should be allowed to take its own course. Secondly the authorities must intorrogate them as to the purpose of their visit and ascertain the facts before releasing them.
