Porvorim: Goa government approves 17 Start Ups under its policy

Porvorim, Aug 31: In a major boost to the homegrown startups, Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant on Friday announced financial support on behalf of the government to seventeen Startups under its policy.

Sawant chaired the fourth High-Powered committee meeting at Secretariat on Friday constituted under Goa Startup Policy 2017.

State Information Technology Minister Jeniffer Monserratte was also present for the meeting.

The chief minister said that seventeen Startups were certified and incentives disbursement worth Rs 82 lakh was approved for thirteen certified companies. He said that this is a major boost to “our homegrown startups.”

The Goa Startup Policy, which was approved earlier this year, aims to make Goa an aspirational geographical and human resource base for startups.

The policy’s endeavour is to create at least hundred successful startups in Goa in the next five years, targeting 5,000 employment for Goans.
