Mangaluru, Aug 29: St Agnes CBSE School organised a number of seminars as part of their Wellness Programme on August 22, 27 and 29. The speaker was Dr Caroline P D’Souza, a well known Neuro-Psychiatrist in the city, who is associated with The Falnir Health Centre.
On August 22, the seminar was for grades 9 and 10, on 'Adolescence and Stress'. The speaker spoke about the various physiological changes, adolescent problems, anger and relationship related issues faced by teenagers these days.
On August 27, the seminar was for grades 7 and 8, on the topic of 'Age and Behaviour'. The subtopics covered were violence, rebellion, family pressure, substance abuse, value conflicts peer pressure, media pressure.
On August 29, the seminar was for grades 5 and 6, on the topic of 'Motivation and Morale Boosting'. Dr Caroline spoke about anger and stress management among students and the need to remain motivated and to be objective in their work and relationships.
On all the three days, students showed a lot of enthusiasm and actively participated in the interaction sessions enabling them to get a clearer picture on the problems faced by youngsters and the different ways to cope with them.
Dr Caroline was appreciated for all her effort and patience during these three days.
