Udupi, Aug 22: Amrith Shenoy, state vice-president, Karnataka Rashtra Samithi (KRS) was speaking at the press meet at Udupi press club here on Wednesday, August 21 said, “Today we are seeing such a situation that, we are looking at Delhi for taking every decision. I have served 15 years in the Congress party but never asked for a party ticket. In the last Karnataka legislative assembly poll, I clarified that, I contested not against the Congress, but against the system as I could not digest it. It was ridiculous for Pramod Madhwaraj to contest on JD (S) ticket from Udupi, where Congress is the strongest party. I was against the illogical decision taken by the then coalition government of the state.
“We are the peer group with same thoughts and united for a certain purpose. Win and defeat does not matter. We will work honestly. There shall not be money power, caste, muscle power or anything. Priority should be given for loyalty in work. Our party candidates are going to contest in future elections, including local bodies and council elections. We will build the party by collecting donation from the public.”
Ravi Krishna Reddy, state president said, “Lacs of people suffering in poverty. Inequality and illiteracy can be seen in the society. Petty politics is the reason for these issues. In Karnataka state, we have ample resources, but people are still suffering because of corruption, corrupt politicians and family politics. JCB (JDS, Congress and BJP) parties have destroyed the peace of this state since decades. Family politics is everywhere. The KRS party intends to go beyond the situation and give a clean, honest and pro-people administration. There should be an internal democracy in politics and I want that. A party is not offering ticket for qualified or pro-active person. Today’s politicians emerge unnoticed and have no touch with the society. We want to involve in our party. Thus a new party should get a chance to bring in new system and eradicate all evils in the society.”
Lingegowda S H, state vice-president, Deepak C N, general secretary, Aravind K B, state treasurer, Papanna, Somasundar K S, state joint secretary and others were present.
