Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Aug 21: Senior BJP leader and minister K S Eshwarappa said that the dissenting leaders from the Congress and JD(S), who supported BJP, are yet to be accommodated in the Karnataka cabinet.

Speaking to the media, he said that in the first list of cabinet leaders, BJP leaders have been prioritized. He said that he is aware that many BJP MLAs are disappointed that they were not selected.

“However, discontentment is natural in any family,” he said. Assuring that the discontent MLAs will be pacified, Eshwarappa expressed confidence that the BJP government will function smoothly in Karnataka.

“More funds for flood relief work will be sought from the centre,” said Eshwarappa and agreed that Rs 1,209 crore released by the Union Government is not sufficient.

He said that he will personally visit and review the flood situation in Bagalkot and Vijayapura along with Govind Karjol. After the review, a report will be submitted to CM Yediyurappa, he said.

Eshwarappa said that the Karnataka government is paying Rs 1 lac as compensation for partial house damage and Rs 5 lac for total damage. He added that Rs 10,000 will be deposited into the bank accounts of flood-affected families.
