Mangaluru, Aug 21: Mangaluru diocese senate, diocese citizen committee, All India Catholic union and Catholic Sabha, Mangaluru deanery, have submitted separate complaints to Mangaluru city police commissioner, deputy commissioner and deputy superintendent of police against a person identified as Robert Rosario for spreading false propaganda against community leaders.
It is alleged that Robert Rosario has been spreading propaganda against former Bishop of Mangaluru, Dr Aloysius Paul D’ Souza, diocese secretary, advocate M P Noronha, and priests, by issuing false statements repeatedly in social networks that have the potential of sowing the seeds of hatred between different religions.
The complainants have urged the police to initiate urgent action against Robert Rosario.
Mangaluru diocese senate secretary, Fr J B Saldanha, delegation director Fr J B Crasta, diocese citizen awareness committee vice president, Roy Castelino, MCC Bank president, Anil Fermai, community leader Sushil Noronha, All India catholic union president, Lancy D’ Cunha, Karnataka state Catholic Union secretary, Deepak D’Souza, Catholic Sabha central committee president, Rolph D’ Costa, Victor Correa from Catholic Sabha, Stany Alvares and others were present.
