Poinguinim, Aug 18: Water-borne diseases are quite common, in order to prevent such malady, Canacona community health centre conducted different programmes in rural areas of the taluka. These programmes were carried out under the National Vector Borne Disease Control Program (NVBDCP).
The programme took place from June 1 to August 17. It was undertaken with an intention of educating the rural residents about diseases spread during the monsoon season. The drive also involved the officials visiting rural households and alerting people on ailments.
The lead officer of the programme was sanity inspector, Pranay Naik. Vandana Desai, health officer in the programme and several other staff supported the initiative.
Naik majorly spoke about water stagnation and the illness it promotes.
