Mangaluru, Aug 17: As many as 105 students of the Konkani Sangh of St Aloysius College paid an educational visit to Kalaangann, the Konkani Heritage Centre, on Friday August 16, and received information regarding the museum, wall art, cement statues and amphitheatre there.
Louis J Pinto, president of Mandd Sobhann, gave information regarding the various activities and programmes conducted at Kalaangann and also promised to rent out the Kalaangann premises to the college youth for Konkani programmes, camps and seminars, free of cost.
Victor Mathias, PRO, explained the importance of Konkani Manyata Day. Few books were handed over to the college library as a memory of their visit and students were also gifted few books. Committee members Irine Rebello, Naveen Lobo and Rony Crasta were present. Sr Trenita Ferrao expressed her gratitude.
The Konkani Sangh, which is about to celebrate its silver jubilee, had organized this visit as a part of their extracurricular activity. The team was led by Flora Castelino of Konkani department and Dr Sylvia Lobo of the English department.
