Mangaluru: Altar Servers’ Day celebrated at St Joseph Vaz Church, Mudipu

Mangaluru, Aug 16: Altar Servers’ Day was celebrated in St Joseph Vaz Church Mudipu on August 11, in honour of St John Berchmans, patron saint of Altar servers.

The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist. Fr Benjamin Pinto was the main celebrant. He encouraged the altar servers to imitate the life of their patron who with great devotion served Jesus. He gave a call to remain always closer to Jesus.

After the Eucharistic celebration Fr Shaun Rodrigues dealt on the life of St John Berchamans. It was followed by group games conducted by ICYM members. A short message oriented movie ‘Ludo’ created by Rolwin D’Souza and Fesvith D’Souza was screened.

The celebration ended with a sumptuous lunch.
