Chikkamagaluru: Landslides continue - Several roads closed for vehicular traffic

Chikkamagaluru, Aug 16: As landslides have been happening in Mullayyanagiri and Dattapeeta roads because of heavy rains, vehicular traffic on these roads have been banned till August 30.

Deputy commissioner of the district, Dr Bagadi Gautham, issued the ban order. He noted that because of torrential rains, landslides have been happening in this particular region. Therefore, in the interests of the general public, vehicular movement on roads leading to Seetalayyanagiri, Mullayyanagiri, Dattapeeta and Kemmannugundi Cross from Kaimara check post, and again on Mullayyanagiri, Dattapeeta, Seetalayyanaigiri tourist spot from Kemmannugundi Cross have been banned. He said vehicles of tourists will also not be allowed on this road.
