Byndoor, Aug 16: A girl student studying in a college ended her life by hanging herself at her home. The incident happened at Alvegadde in Shiroor in the taluk on Thursday August 15.
The victim was Shruthi (19), daughter of Padmavathi from Alvegadde. She was a BCom degree course student of Sudhindra College Bhatkal. It is said that the student was not good at studies. Her mother often advised her to concentrate on studies.
As the student did not heed her advices, the mother reportedly reprimanded the girl student and advised her to put in efforts in studies on Wednesday night. Hurt by her mother's advice, she hanged herself from the roof beam of her house with the help of the veil of her Churidar on Thursday morning.
