Mangalore, Jun 20: Vitiligo day was observed at Father Muller Medical College Hospital on Friday June 19. Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director of the Institution inaugurated the programme.
He emphasized on early recognition and management of the disease. Fr Stany Tauro, administrator Father Muller Medical College Hospital released the information leaflets on vitiligo. Dr Ramesh Bhat M, Prof & HOD, Dept of Dermatology spoke on the disease and informed the medical and surgical modalities of treatment available for the disease in the hospital.
Dr Nanda Kishore B welcomed the gathering and Dr Sukumar D delivered vote of thanks. Fr Denis D’Sa, administrator FMMC, Dr Sanjeev Rai, chief of medical sciences, Dr J P Alva, dean and Dr L L Joshva, medical superintendent attended the programme. Dr Jacintha Martis compered the programme.
The vitiligo camp was arranged to mark the observation of vitiligo day. More than 100 patients attended the camp. Patients were offered free registration, information on vitiligo, free medicines, phototherapy and surgical modalities of treatment at concessional rates.
