Bengaluru, Aug 15: Chairman of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board and former Congress MLA from Chikkaballapur constituency Dr K Sudhakar, who has been disqualified from the assembly for anti-party activities, was reportedly assaulted on July 10 at Vidhana Soudha here. A petition filed in the high court seeking to order detailed investigation into the entire episode now stands transferred to the division bench.
Advocate N P Amruthesh, had filed the said petition. The single judge bench of Justice Alok Aradhe which took over the petition, noted that this is a serious issue as the legislator who is expected to protect the people himself had come under attack. The bench also orally wondered who will save the commoners if a legislator is attacked. It expressed the opinion that it would be proper for the case to be heard by the division bench. It ordered the registrar general to move the petition to the chief justice for further order.
