Puttur, Aug 15: A minor girl had recently died due to ill health. The doctors found that she was three months pregnant at the time of her death.
In connection with this incident, the police who investigated the matter, arrested a person who allegedly had raped the girl, and charged him under the provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
The arrested accused happens to be Sridhar from Madnoor in the taluk. The girl in question had died on July 30. During the tests conducted by the doctors, it was found that she was three months pregnant. Thereafter, the mother of the girl had complained to the rural police here.
