Mangaluru, Aug 15: "Programmes like 'Aatidonji Dina' and 'Atid Kandodonji Dina' create awareness among the people about the customs, uniqueness, life, sufferings, and special features of the people of Tulunadu. We can find a sense of fulfilment of the purposes behind these things only when we retain the culture, refinement and traditions handed over to us by the previous generation carefully and hand them over to the next generation," observed member of National Women's Commission, Shyamala Kunder. She was speaking after inaugurating 'Atid Kandodonji Dina ' pogramme held at Kullangalu,
Soorinje, Suratkal, under the aegis of Dakshina Kannada district Madivalara Sangha, Rajaka Youths Mangaluru and taluk units of the Sangha.
District president of Madivalara Sangha, B N Prakash, presided. Mulky - Moodbidri MLA, Umanath Kotian, zilla panchayat vice president, Kasturi Panja, Udupi SDM Ayurveda Pharmacy factory manager, Dr Yatiraj Kukkaje, and others participated as guests. Rajaka Youth president, Sampath Kondana and presidents of taluk units of the Sangha were present.
Various games and competitions were held in slushy agricultural fields on this occasion. Selected talented students of the community received financial assistance. Different eatables that are unique to Tulunadu made on the occasion were served. Bhaskar Bekal, Ashok Polali, and Vishwanath Katipalla compered the programmes.
