Sullia, Aug 14: After a jeep hit a scooty at Aramboor on Mani - Mysuru national highway on Tuesday August 13, retired assistant sub-inspector, Annayya Gowda (65) lost his life. He was a resident of Padpu Idyadka in the taluk.

Annayya was moving in his two-wheeler towards Aranthodu from his house when a jeep belonging to a chicken centre that was bound for Sullia collided with the scooty he was driving. Annayya, who suffered serious injuries to his head and chest, succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital.

Aramboor has long been identified as an accident-prone spot. In the recent past, three persons from Channapatna taluk of Ramanagara district had died in an accident which happened on July 14 this year.

As a dangerous road bend is located at Aramboor, many accidents have happened here, giving rise to deaths and injuries.
