Bengaluru: Fr Reginald D’Mello appointed as new secretary for Ecumenism Commission

Bengaluru, Aug 13: Reginald Edward D’Mello (54), from the Order of Preachers (OP) was appointed as secretary of CCBI Commission for Ecumenism.

The appointment was made by the 83rd executive committee meeting of the CCBI held on August 10.

Currently, Fr Reginald is the financial administrator of the Indian Province of Dominican Fathers. He holds Licentiate in Ecumenism and MA in Sociology. He was the former director of Satyagiri, Dominican Centre for Inter-Religious and Ecumenical Dialogue, Igatpuri, Maharashtra (2008 – 2012). He is the visiting professor of Ecumenism at St Charles’ Seminary, Nagpur.

He was born on March 18, 1965, Kallianpur, Udupi diocese, Karnataka and joined the Dominican Order of Preachers in 1980. He made his final profession on June 17, 1990 and ordained priest on April 26, 1992. He was the bursar and superior in novitiate community, Goa (1992 -1999) and financial administrator of St Charles seminary, Nagpur (1999-2002). Fr Reginald also served as vice provincial from 2012-2016.
