Mangaluru: Eighth annual ‘Atindonji Aithara’ programme held at Kulshekar

Mangaluru, Aug 12: Dharmashastra Mandira Trust, Jyothi Nagar, Kulshekar held their eighth annual ‘Atidonji Aithara’ (a Sunday in the month of Aati), programme on August 11. Five year old Takshil M Devadiga who secured fifth position in the wonder book of world records, inaugurated the programme.

Managing trustee of the mandira, advocate Ramaprasad S presided over the programme. ‘Aati’, a book written by trustee Dayanand Kattalsar was released. Yakshagana teacher Dr Dinaker S Pachanaday was felicitated.

Former mayor, chief guest Bhasker K, Fourwinds Mass Communication Services director E Fernandes, Daijiworld’s Pravin Tauro, Tuluvarayana Koota’s Yadava Kolian spoke as per context. Tuluva Bolli Dayanand Kattalsar compered the programme, Tuluva dance, competition of hitting coconut and other cultural competitions were held.

Members of Darmashastra Matra Mandali prepared more than 35 local delicacies and served them. Mahalingeshwar Bhat welcomed the gathering and Ashik K rendered the vote of thanks. Seva Samiti honorary president Krishnappa Tailor, Matra mandali president Sumitra, Yakshavrinda convener Dinesh and Yuva Seva samithi president Anjushree were present.

A community prayer for floods to subside and for the affected people to recover was said.
