Udupi: DC Hephsiba Rani Korlapati visits low areas in district affected by rain

Udupi, Aug 10: Deputy commissioner, Hephsiba Rani Korlapati visited and inspected low lying areas in Brahmavar taluk on Friday midnight between 12.30 am and 2.30 am in view of the heavy rain in the district and possibility of rainwater entering the areas disrupting normal lives.

Water is likely to enter Uppoor, Kudrubettu, Nadubettu and Bavalikudru low areas and is likely to inundate them. The DC asked the tahsildar to be in touch with local people well equipped with necessary items in such situations.

She later visited Brahmavar tahsildar’s office and inspected control room 24x7 opened in the office. She appreciated all the staff for being on duty and asked them to prepare to respond to people's problems as red alert is declared in the district.

SP Nisha James, Brahmavar tahsildar Kiran Gaurayya, revenue inspector and village accountant accompanied the deputy commissioner.
