Udupi, Aug 9: A woman named Ganga had died when the wall of her cowshed fell on her whilst she milked her cow at Benegal Hadibettu, Cherkadi gram panchayat limits, Udupi rural area. MLA K Raghupathi Bhat who rushed to the spot on receiving the information announced suitable compensation to the family of the deceased.
Thereafter, MP Shobha Karandlaje visited and handed over Rs four lac to the family of the deceased on Friday and offered her condolences to them. She said that further compensation will be paid from the chief minister’s fund.
Kota Srinivas Poojary, district BJP president Mattar Rathnaker Hegde, BJP district chief secretary Yashpal Suvarna, district panchayat president Dinaker Babu, local panchayat president, rural BJP president, local taluk panchayat members, district panchayat members, BJP district and taluk level office bearers were present.
