Panaji: Online registration of marriages in state soon – Minister Nilesh Cabral

Panaji, Aug 9: Couples in Goa will be able to register their marriages online soon. The information was disclosed by minister of power and environment, Nilesh Cabral in the assembly on Thursday. The bride and groom can log on and choose the time and date of registration. The process will be quick and the marriage certificate will be available immediately, he said. It will help Goans abroad who want to get married in the state.

There are plans to use drones and modern technology to monitor river pollution. River Sal and Mandovi will be monitored to start with. He said that the courts that are functioning in private buildings at present will be shifted to new government buildings within the next three years.

An extension will be sought for August 30 deadline in national green tribunal to complete coastal zone management plan.

He said that village panchayats can prepare their own plans and submit them to coastal zone management plan. He said though power tariffs will not be increased, the average billing practice will be stopped and old meters will be replaced to prevent leakages of power.
