Mangaluru: Congress activists to undertake dengue awareness campaign

Mangaluru, Aug 8: Former MLA, J R Lobo, said that Congress workers will undertake house to house dengue awareness campaign within the limits of the city (south) assembly constituency to educate people about this disease, beginning from August 10.

He was speaking at a meeting of the city block and city (south) block Congress committee workers held at the district Congress committee office at Mallikatta. He said that this campaign is aimed at stopping the spread of dengue that has been responsible for the sufferings of many people and deaths of a few.

Retired supervisor in the district health department, Jayaram, explained that dengue patients normally suffer from symptoms like normal fever, fever coupled with bleeding, and fever which cause unconsciousness. The last two among them are dangerous and getting treated by a doctor immediately is very much necessary, he said. He warned that negligence in getting treated can even lead to deaths.

Block Congress presidents Abdul Saleem and Vishwas Kumar Das, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary P V Mohan, office bearers A Suresh Shetty, Prabhakar Shriyan and T K Sudheer were present.
