Bengaluru, Aug 3: While the employees in private sector work for 10 hours and still manage to reach office in time in Bengaluru, government employees in Vidhana Soudha find the task impossible.
State Government Employees Association president Guruswamy has written to government chief secretary that government employees feel tensed after working for seven and half hours in a day. “Coming to office in Bengaluru traffic is a challenge. Therefore, it is not possible to reach the office by 10.10 am. Please change the timings,” he has written in the letter.
The letter states that government working hours are from 10 am to 5.30 pm. “Vidhana Soudha is in the heart of Bengaluru. Traffic density is increasing in the city day by day. Therefore, it is not possible to reach the office in the morning on time. The biometric machine is not functioning properly. The time is not flashed properly. Construction activities are happening all over the city. Hence, reaching the office is difficult. Therefore, the employees should be permitted to reach office up to 10.30 am,” he requested in the letter.
