Mangaluru: Missing man from Puttur found dead in river

Mangaluru, Aug 2: The body of Sudarshan Naik (22) from Ujrupade in Balnadu village in Puttur taluk, about whom a missing complaint had been filed, was found lying on the bank of River Falguni at Dambel here on Thursday August 1.

Some locals who saw a body floating in the river on Thursday morning conveyed the information to Urwa police station. A case of unnatural death was registered in Urwa police station here. It is suspected that Naik would have committed suicide.

Sudarshan used to work in the New Mangalore Port canteen at Panambur. He was in the habit of visiting his native place, Puttur, once a week. He had visited his family at Puttur on July 28 and returned on July 30. But he had not reported for duty at the said canteen nor was he available for contact.

His brother, Sumanth Naik, had filed missing complaint in Puttur rural police station.
