Mangaluru, Aug 1: The annual festival of patron saint St Dominic Guzman will be held on Sunday, Aug 11 at St Dominic church, Ashoknagar.

The theme for this year is 'St Dominic a guide to christian life’.

St Dominic Church, Ashoknagar was built on a hill, where a huge cross was erected in memory of the Eucharistic Congress in the year 1964.

As a preparation for the feast nine day novena would begin on Aug 2 to 10th. Masses would be held on various intensions on all days along with novena prayers at the end.

On feast day, most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop emeritus of Mangalore will offer the holy mass at 10 AM.on Aug 11.

Fr Aquin Noronha, parish priest along with Fr Royston lobo, assistant priest and parish council are leading the preparation of the feast. Thousands of devotees from various parts of Mangaluru are expected for the feast.

As part of the feast, confroternity sunday would be held on Sun, Aug 4.

Solemn mass would be held at 4pm followed by solemmn procession of the blessed sacrament.
