Bantwal, Aug 1: “The centenary celebrations of Borimar Church are progressing as a model to all the religions and there is no doubt that those will be dear to God,” said district panchayat member Manjula Madhava Mave.

She was speaking as the chief guest in the school festival of St Joseph aided higher primary school and English medium school held under the aegis of Borimar St Joseph Church which is into centenary celebrations.

“The programmes held every month by Borimar Church pastoral council are an example for us serving in the political sector. Fr Gregory Pereira in his agricultural revolution has taken the reputation of Soorikumeru Church in the concept of parish pastoral council vice president Roshan Boniface to its peak in the Christmas friendly gathering during the last four years," she opined. School convener Fr Gregory Pereira presided over the programme. He said that children should make the dream of parents a reality. It is also dear to God, she said.

Taluk panchayat member Manjula Kushala Peraje, president of Mani gram panchayat took part at chief guest.

Jeevan Nilaya convent superior Sr Nancy, parish pastoral council vice president Roshan Boniface Martis, secretary Preeti Lancy Pereira, headmistress Theresa Fernandes and Reena D’ Souza were on the dais. Various games were held for students and winners were presented prizes. Teachers of both the schools were presented mementos in memory on behalf of pastoral council. Post man Asraf Soorikumeri who administered emergency medicine to students who were injured in accident and electrician Chidananda were felicitated.

Teacher Jacinta compered the programme. Meals were served to all after the programme.
